"Mrs."
is a faithful and thought-provoking remake that sheds light on India's patriarchal society, driven by Sanya Malhotra's outstanding performance as a housewife seeking self-discovery.
"Mrs." is the official Hindi Remake of Malayalam hit The Great Indian Kitchen. It is a faithful remake exploring the challenges faced by housewives and their quest for self-discovery. The film is an effective, engaging and thought-provoking watch which sheds light on extremely relatable patriarchal society of the country. A social commentary without being preachy.
Sanya Malhotra's performance is undoubtedly the highlight, as she brings a balance to the character's emotional journey with ease. Probably the only actor who felt natural doing the daily chores, and her dancing abilities felt seamless. Extremely underrated till now in Bollywood. Nishant Dahiya effectively plays the patriarchal husband and Kanwaljit is excellent as well as the Father in Law. Honest direction by Arati Kadav.
Overall, "Mrs" is a faithful remake which is thought-provoking and socially relevant that serves as a "hard slap on all the Indian mentality" that expects only women to do household chores. It's a must-watch for husbands, wives, in-laws, and all family members, prompting discussions about their own households and daily lives.

A beautiful remake and an apt adaptation of The Great Indian Kitchen (I highly
recommend watching the original Malayalam film. Don’t be afraid of subtitles—it has minimal dialogue
