Koji Yakusho as Hirayama is simply magnificent. He appears in almost every scene yet one cannot take one's eyes off him. No wonder he won the Best Actor at Cannes for this riveting performance 💫
Loved the soundtrack. There is no score per se. What we hear is an old English song once in every 15 mins and they all blend beautifully into the narrative. Besides music, nature and literature are also such integral elements of this film. Visually as well, PERFECT DAYS is near-perfect, capturing the aesthetic and spiritual beauty of Tokyo.
I don't think I would have liked this film ten years ago. Interestingly, I might like this film even more ten years later ❤️
