If you liked Stree 1, you're gonna like this one.
They stuck to the 'tried & tested' formula that worked the first time, and while sequels are usually worse than the first film, this one isn't, despite losing Raj & DK as writers/producers after the first one.
As you already know, this is a horror-comedy and there are genre switches back-to-back, a little too frequent for my liking. Weirdly, I didn't mind it this time, perhaps because of the 'collective theater experience'. Is this film a 100% theater material, no. Did watching it with a crowd help elevate it? Yes. I wonder if I'd have panned the film had I watched the film on streaming by myself. Some of the comedy is chuckle worthy at best but people laughing out loud in a big room doesn't make it sound as bad....?
The Maddock Supernatural Universe (MSU) is really turning out to be a set of enjoyable films. I've only watched Stree 1 and 2, but I heard Bhediya was decent, Munjiya was GOOD (not so much about Roohi...?) I hear that they have 3 more movies planned to release in the next 2 years, and are rolling the dice big time with the next one, which....I don't want to mention here.
Again - If you enjoyed Stree 1, you're going to enjoy Stree 2 and dare I say, maybe even enjoy it more than Stree 1....👀
