Shaitaan opens with the promise of a chilling horror film, but it quickly veers into a survival thriller. Even though it's a remake, the movie manages to maintain the tension and suspense of the original. The cast, particularly R Madhavan in a menacing role, delivers strong performances. The sound design and editing are equally impressive, creating a truly immersive experience.
However, Shaitaan falters in the second half, where the pace slows down considerably. Additionally, the film's trailer spoils most of the major plot points, leaving viewers with little to be surprised by. While the movie lacks a solid backstory, a common requirement for this genre, it might still appeal to fans of Ajay Devgn's action hero persona. Ultimately, Shaitaan is a decent thriller but fails to live up to its initial promise. However a good thriller to the library of Ajay saving Daughter Universe.
