The initial scenes of the shaman ritual is on full display but as expected things go crazy. What I liked bout the film was not in your face horror . They don’t depend on jump scares or gore or the template sound design but nee associates with a horror film. But here they add a lot of folklore with the rituals and a dense screenplay also mentioning the Japanese occupation of Korea. Though it’s a lil stretched out towards the end what works big time are the performances of the actors and the atmospheric setting that they consistently create with the colour tone , sound design and the score . If you’re a fan of horror purely as a genre film then exhuma is absolutely top notch ..
