Do Patti is a Hindi crime drama, endeavors to address significant subjects such as domestic violence and childhood trauma; however, it is deemed to have shortcomings in its implementation. Under the direction of Shashanka Chaturvedi, with actors Kajol and Kriti Sanon portraying the lead roles, the film centers on an attempted murder case in a quaint hill town. Kajol assumes the role of investigating officer Vidya Jyoti. The narrative delves into the lives of twin sisters Saumya and Shailee, both characterized by Kriti Sanon. Saumya portrays a reserved and apprehensive demeanor, whereas Shailee embodies a confident and lighthearted attitude. The interaction between their contrasting personalities and the relationships involving Saumya’s spouse, Dhruv (portrayed by Shaheer Sheikh), serve as the focal point of the storyline. Despite the film's captivating premise, it encounters challenges due to its foreseeable nature and lackluster plot twists.The characters frequently exhibit a lack of depth, rendering them one-dimensional, while the screenplay fails to provide the necessary depth to fully engage the audience in the story. Kajol's portrayal of a no-nonsense police officer stands out, however, her character is not thoroughly explored. Kriti Sanon showcases a praiseworthy performance, particularly in her dual role; nonetheless, the screenplay of the film fails to provide her with ample opportunities to excel. Shaheer Sheikh's depiction of Dhruv is satisfactory; however, the character's depth is limited. Overall , Do Patti addresses significant issues but falls short of making a lasting impression because of its superficial handling and predictable storyline.
