MAN OF CINEMA
"Life's like baseball, Looking around for something to happen and poof! Game's
over!"
We all wonder what's all this fuzz about american game Baseball. Why do they love this game so damn much. Well i dont a fucking clue. But this movie will show you one thing which you will definitely relate to.
I am sure most of us have experienced this in childhood or in some age when your playing field or garden suddenly being renovated into something else, all those memories you made over the decades will suddenly be lost in time and all you will have are memories which will eventually fade away.
Eephus is one such bittersweet story, where all these men playing baseball over decades now suddenly have to stop because a new school is going constructed on that ground. Baseball was not just a game for them, it was a way of socialising, a shared bond of brotherhood and most importantly when you play the you loved most, it will put you in that time zone when you are most happy playing it.
Movie provides that nostalgia that we all crave for through old memories when we played games all day without a care for the world. Here also they play this game one last time on this ground from dawn to dusk and into the night.
The movie also carries this offbeat humour which just brings a smile while you try to make sense of the game's rules. Because i don't have a clue how baseball is played.
A passage of time told through the perfect pitch of the beloved game that they had to bid farewell.
