Vermiglio

Vermiglio is the story of Mothers, Daughter and sisters who have been left behind with kids in their hand and their husbands are nowhere to be seen. Cursed gift that World War II gave. Vermiglio is a remote mountain village in italy, where most men are either dead or missing or not returned home. this affects those people they left behind, the struggles of their daily life, their dying desires and trauma that will most definitely transfer to the next generation. There is a scene where a woman says if its a boy keep his name ending with " O" and if its a girl keep her name ending with "A". The name of the village they are living in VERMIGLIO also ends with O, male noun. But this village is cursed with widows and orphans. I liked the parallel it drew. Its horrifying, broken and hopeful spirit of the mothers, sisters and the daughters who trusted these lonely beautiful mountains to keep their secrets and desires hidden and kept their life moving on. I really like how cinematography works here, even though we see different seasons, but the mood every time is very bleak and sad. Indicating the seasons go and come, but their wait goes on for happiness.
