Danaye anjir-e moabad

The day since i heard about this movie, that unusual title has always made methink about the meaning of it. Now after reading the explanation of seed in the beginning of the film and watching the film you can say that Director Mohammad Rasoulof was talking about the younger & future generation of Iran, especially the women of iran, who are sacred and they don't need anyone to support them they will be independent, powerful and they will stand on their own legs by rebeling against the oppressors just like the seed of the sacred fig. Rasoulof presents us the current state of iran where women are protesting and chanting slogans " Women Life Freedom" against authoritarian regime, and we see all this through a fictional conservative family he created, where the father himself works in government as investigator who signs off death penalties against protestors. But soon his happy family breaks into chaos and drama when his daughters realise the truth about their father and the society, soon this family feud turns into a nerving thriller towards the end which is just so amazing to witness. Those last 40 odd minutes talk so much about ourselves, family, and the values before society. Because the dictatorship and prohibitions do not start from the government, it starts Within the family, within yourself, from your own mind. As long as you don't change your own rotten thoughts then you can't bring change in society. This is a masterpiece which not only highlights iran's hypocritical patriarchal society, but also about the people who believe in that ideology to till this day over the happiness of their loved ones. It is the start of a new revolution in iran and Rasoulof woven a brilliant political drama and thriller around it.
