Nandhan is based on many real life characters and incidents where a village
panchayat becomes a reserved seats for Dalits but still how they’re treated like puppets of the upper casters and how they’re treated without any self respect . It talks bout so many important points but I felt a lot more layered in-depth narration but unfortunately what we get is a generic drama with lots of melodrama . Director’s intentions are good but I hope in his next films we get characters with depth so that we can emotionally connect with the characters. I felt even sasikumar played a very mellowed down character.
