Haider is an interesting concoction mixing Shakespeare along with Kashmir’s
issues with great set of actors . And it starts off really strongly talking openly bout the atrocities committed on the civilians by the army and the police and I’m pretty sure it would have never been released in today’s political climate. I guess the message ticker during the end credits probably is served as a compromise. Intense roles for shahid , tabu and Kay Kay Menon. Shraddha was gloriously miscast and looked lost . But after the strong start and a nice cameo by Irfan the film loses its stronghold and it becomes a retribution film. But loved the various opinions that were openly discussed but the director’s indulgence gets in the way but tabu and shahid compel you to stay with the film till the end .
