MAN OF CINEMA
Vikramaditya Motwane once again proves why he is one of the finest filmmakers
we have today. This show is nothing short of a perfect mixture of reality and fiction. Gripping episode after episode will make you binge-watch it in one sitting. Technically very well made and accompanied by some brilliant performances by less known actors.
Visually the series showcases the authentic side of tihar jail in the 80s. Visuals really enhance the emotional weight of a story.
The inclusion of Charles Sobhraj’s character in the story was very clever. It not only made the narrative more engaging but added a different layer to the story showing inequality and class systems among prisoners, prison politics and more. His character brought the perfect mix of charm and ambiguity. Sidhant Gupta does a pretty good job playing the most charming and notorious criminal.
The music and dialogues deserve special mention too. It blends seamlessly with the story without ever feeling intrusive or jarring, something many recent shows struggle to achieve.
The show is a fresh take on the criminal world with an authentic lens. The metaphorical representations, particularly in depicting the infamous world of prisons, elevate the story beyond its grim setting. The human side of the narrative is handled with such care that it avoids unnecessary sympathy while still being impactful.

Gorgeous era setting! Even more stunning was the storytelling, and just when
you thought that was enough, every single character knocked it out of the park. I mean, wow… just wow.
