Horror storytelling at its best.
Film creates a perfect mystery that leaves audience startled, shocked and begging for answers even after the movie is finished. It just really fucks up your mind with the things you witness.
The film creates an atmospheric mood for the story to unravel in a small korean village with Mysterious killings happening all over and no answers to be found. The uncertainty it build up slowly through different character arc just pays off.
Movie initially builds up as crime thriller but slowly shifts into supernatural elements which just elevates the richness of the story and makes it more intriguing.
The film is nowhere near predictable, whenever you think you found answers to questions, it will throw a different curve ball which just leaves you breathless.
Film with the sequences of occult rituals, authentic portrayal of demonic possessions, the emotional drama and with unique horror elements perfectly justifies the longer length of the movie, it doesn't feel stretched or forced.
It unleashes great horror with elements of korean traditional and folk integrated into modern time. Which slowly binds you to the seat and fully immerses you into this world. A story which will always come back to you with many unanswered questions.
