You Season 4 Review (9/10)- My favourite season of 'You'
Phew! I'm still
getting settled over that great twist which happened in the penultimate episode of the season. That was absolutely unexpected.
At first, it feels like just another season where Joe Goldberg will fall in love with another girl and drag her to death eventually, but what really transpires soon enough is, there is someone who is even a bigger psychopath than Joe Goldberg himself, who starts to trouble Joe by framing him in murders of his friends. The predator becomes the prey. Now who is he? What does he want with Joe?
Well, don't get going yet thinking the story as mainstream as the grand twist stays well veiled in the ending part of the season. The screenplay might feel a tad bit slow at times, but I assure you that it'll eventually grow on you as the main story progresses into the limelight.
Thoughts and Performances
Penn Badgley aka Joe Goldberg aka Jonathan Moore shines as usual with yet another brilliant performance, this time with a full fledged beard throughout the season, making sure we all vouch for the anti-hero no matter how big a murderer he might be.
The screenplay as I said feels a bit slow. I love the moderately-darker colour grading given to the frames, which feels amazing watching on a HDR enabled device.
The dialogues are contrived and high on humour at most times which might be a hit or miss at most times for people who don't watch much English content. Also, not much to remember by, barring a couple of lines. Dialogue writing could've been improved to compensate for the screenplay.
What I also don't like is the use of certain circumstancial songs used through the episodes, which might feel out of place and forced at times.
However, You S4 is still grotesque and lethal with also being slick and nearly believable at the same time, and definitely a strong recommend from me to binge watch this weekend.
Best dialogue -
"The longer you know somebody, the more cursed you are to see them as human."

The story and plot is pretty decent.
It may be cuz you sit at the edge of the seat for season endings. You can watch it if you like watching series from the antagonist's pov.

Haha what a show where I end up rooting for an absolutely absurd stalker
criminal.

the first three seasons raised the bar so high…S4 and S5 might have lost the
plot integrity a bit but it is quite engaging and pulls you in.

Joe bro holds the show as usual.
Better than the shitty season 3. But still a bit par low compared to 2&1

It's a masterpiece...
This series is extremely engaging. That's how it should be. I don't think out of 4 seasons even one episode was boring...
