Over melodramatic scenes. Poor performances by the entire cast, emotions feel artificial. Especially in the first half, even Siddharth's performance too felt artificial and some others are irritating. The emotional connection with the audience is the biggest strength of Shankar's previous movies, especially 'Indian'. But there's no emotional connection in 'Indian2'. Plane and weak writing. Same old template story with some new flavours. It might be worked, if it was released atleast 10 years before. Many changes happened and many more issues have got more popularity than corruption. Corruption is a virus; I agree. But it's not the only virus. There are many more dangerous viruses in our society. But the story stuck in the olden days. Still focusing and trying to satisfy the urban elite mindset. The statements which the film putting forward can't accept completely and blindly. Lots of politically incorrect statements, scenes and dialogues are there. I know, expecting a Shankar movie with political correctness is a waste of time. But just saying. Grandeur visuals and Ulaganayagan Kamal Hassan couldn't save the film. Grandeur in making without a good screenplay is waste of time and money. After all, the audience are not fools to watch sizzling dancers like 'Calendar Song' and forgetting rest of the film. Shankar needs to learn this from the new age directors. Duration is the another problem. This movie doesn't need 3hr duration. Could've been trimmed to 2 hrs 15mins. Even 2:30hrs is a bad idea. Calendar Song and Kadharalz could've been avoided. Lengthy dialogues and lengthy scenes. Especially in the second half. There is no punch anywhere in the film, even in intervals or climax. Music is the next negative. What happened to Anirudh? In many recent blockbusters, even though the story is predictable and just ok, Anirudh's music takes it to another level. But unfortunately, Anirudh couldn't do anything. Zero emotions. Last 30 minutes are really unbearable. WTF was that. Climax is just plane. No punch to give an anticipation to 3rd part. Instead of it, they screened some glimpses of 'Indian3'. Genuinely, I liked the glimpse/trailer. Especially the old before independence period portions are so good. Feels like that could be better than this. Frames blends with the 'Paara Song' give a good anticipation to 'Indian3'. Otherwise 'Indian2' is a failed attempt. Their intentions failed. This part 2 could've been made within a duration of 2hrs or add period portions in part 2 itself and avoided part 3. It's just my opinion. I felt so. Shankar needs a 'COMEBACK', not 'Indian'.
