I'm always excited for horror movies, but whenever a film actually scares me,
that fear stays with me for days. Demonic cults and ritual-based horror easily get under my skin. I don't really believe in this stuff, but somewhere deep down... yeah, I'm a little superstitious.
I'm genuinely happy that horror has been eating good this year. Obsession, Backrooms, Iron Lung... all of them are on my watchlist, and I'll definitely be watching them. But there's one more film I want to add to that list Undertone.
Man... this movie delivers one hell of a haunting horror experience. Don't even bother asking whether it's "good" or not. Just experience it firsthand. But there are a few conditions.
Silence. No distractions. Full attention. Pitch-black room. Just you and the screen. And take your piss and shit before pressing play, because once it starts, you're not getting up until the credits roll.
It creeps under your skin. Pure psychological horror with an atmosphere that keeps suffocating you. I seriously wonder where these people keep digging up all these ancient folklore, legends, and creepy horror materials just to traumatize us. We could honestly do an entire podcast on that alone.
I didn't watch the trailer. I didn't read a single review. I went in completely blind, expecting nothing... and this movie gave me paranoia, chills, and left me genuinely disturbed. It'll stay with me for a long time. In fact, I wish I could forget it just so I could experience it for the first time all over again.
The atmosphere, the presentation, the execution... absolutely nailed. Feels like the director woke up one day and said, "I don't need to leave my house with a camera. I'll just put a bedridden old woman and her daughter in one place and scare the absolute living shit out of the audience." Swear to God, that's exactly what he did.
And it worked.
Bro, I'm never listening to nursery rhymes again. And I'm definitely not getting my girl pregnant. Who the hell knows what kind of demons are roaming around these days?
Jokes apart, Undertone is a simple film with rock-solid execution. Had an absolute blast.
Why are you asking if I enjoyed it? Bro... I was scared shitless.
One of the best horror films of the year!!!

Unsettling..
its a slow burn but once the switch in your head gets flicked. It will creep you out, an Indie movie shot on a shoe string budget at the debut directors.. childhood

The finest example of how a good direction can elevate a simple premise to an
amazing film.
On the surface level it is a horror film but on "undertone", there is a slight
