After the success of Pani, it feels like Joju George has started making almost
every movie around revenge. I think he needs to move away from this revenge formula.
Varavu was a pathetic and irritating movie for me. I didn’t like even a single scene in the movie. It feels like they thought that if they make another revenge movie, people will watch it.
The story follows a very familiar template — someone in the family gets killed, and then the main character goes after revenge. There is nothing new about the basic idea, but the bigger problem is that they didn’t even make this familiar story interesting.
The movie keeps showing the same things again and again, with many cringe scenes. There is no proper excitement, emotion or interesting writing.
Overall, Varavu was boring, irritating and a complete waste of time for me. Simply not worth watching.

Marketed as a high‑octane commercial action‑revenge thriller, Varavu leans
heavily on outdated ’90s action tropes without the support of a coherent script to bind them together.
