I wish makers had watched " The Diplomat" series on netflix and drawn someinspiration before making this brainless crap. How a diplomat especially women diplomat in foreign soil during a crisis is handled through inter politics, politics between nations ,gender politics and personal life. The Diplomat series shows all this in such a brilliant way. But in Ulaj they try to do all these things but end up being senseless and illogical. In the end she becomes one woman hero who saves the country. Where is the authenticity in this? Where is the sense of relevance of being in the real world. You are fucking diplomat for god sake, not an spy. Bollywood please stop turning every character/movie into a spy thriller. I would have loved to see the politics behind the closed doors between diplomats rather than jumping into action solving cases when it's not your job. And apart from all this, we have seen in many movies how men diplomats falling into honey trap risking country's security and end up being labelled as traitor or irresponsible officer. But here a woman does the same thing, falls into a honey trap with isisi agent while roaming with him to pubs and places in foreign soil while being posted there officially. Not only is this illogical shit but also hypocritical. Because now after risking security, she has ought to become a hero who saved the country despite being a failure in the beginning. For fuck sake be real and stay relevant to logical world. I think Jhanvi can pull out a good diplomat political role if all this spy shit was involved, but the script failed her and gulshan devaiah. I love his acting so much, but i did not like him here. This is one of his bad works I feel. They deserve better than this mediocre script.
