CTRL

The only reason i wanted to watch this movie is for Vikramaditya Motwane.Guy is a genius, always works on unique stories and most of his movies are damn good. In an recent youtube interview about this movie he said he was inspired by Screenlife/digital life genre films like Searching, Missing, Unfriend so i was really excited to see whats he created. But i guess from those movies what he did not get inspired from is keeping things subtle, less dramatic, raw, immersive and more intensive. The movie's first 10-15 minutes is about the setup which eventually leads to CTRL AI, and it was hard to digest those 10 minutes of cringe and predictability and over the top screenplay. After that we are finally there to know about CTRL, but it gets even more cringe and creepy from there. If i saw that creepy face smiling and talking to me on my screen then i would have hit the close tab button right away. It was so creepy to watch. But i still kept my patience to see where all this leads to, what's the end game. It does get interesting with a missing person, dead bodies, & tech companies. But then everything is over just so suddenly and she is in jail. And after coming out of jail she goes back on that same AI app again which she was trying to expose and who killed her boyfriend, who does that? Yes we all know data theft exists, we all know the algorithms are real and they track our every digital movement. Like there was nothing new, unique or shocking in this movie to tell. At least you had a missing person and dead body at least they would have invested more time into that and made crime thriller or online investigation. But the movie spends little time on that and more time on showing shitty cringe stuff. I can't believe this is the same guy who made Masaan , Lootere, bhavesh Joshi , trapped and more such gems. But this movie is trash and people think this is anything near to Black Mirror or Other good screenlife movies then you haven't watched enough. CTRL is a waste of time, just like you spending 2 hours on scrolling reels.
